Several drivers will become “free agents”, so to speak. Among them are Roush Fenway Teammates Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards. Richard Childress Racing’s Clint Bowyer. Red Bull Racing Team’s Brian Vickers. Hendrick Motorsports’ Mark Martin, and Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing’s Juan Pablo Montoya.
Without a doubt Brian will probably stay put with Red Bull Racing, and Clint Bowyer is pretty content at Richard Childress Racing, and Mark Martin will not be racing full time in 2012, that’s why Hendrick signed Kasey Kahne to drive the 5 car. Greg Biffle is reportedly close to signing a contract. So that leaves Carl Edwards and Juan Pablo Montoya. Who would you rather have driving for you?
My choice, and it might not matter much would be Carl Edwards. By far he’s the best free agent out there. In two hundred and thirty starts he has 18 wins, 71 top fives, 119 top tens, and 7 poles. I don’t know much about statistics, but I would say that puts him pretty high up there.
I believe that he will stay with Roush Fenway Racing. Hopefully AFLAC will stay as the primary sponsor of the 99 car! Plus, he flies the open skies with Bossman Jack Roush.
