Should The Nationwide Series Get A ‘Chase’?

The nationwide drivers have failed to win any of the 2011 season races, so far this year. Tony Stewart won Daytona, Kyle Busch won Phoenix, Mark Martin won  at Las Vegas. Did you take notice that the winners of these races are cup drivers?

As much as I love the Cup Series, I also have love for the Nationwide Series. Over the last several years, the Cup guys have been dominating the Nationwide Series. A series designed for up and coming drivers, to showcase their talent, and land cup rides, or it’s for former cup drivers, without a cup ride, trying to rebuild their confidence levels. Although, there is no ‘chase’ type format, personally speaking I think their should be.

With the new points system, it’s really anyone’s game. Here is my idea for the Nationwide Series : Use the old chase format. Plain and Simple. Even though drivers have to choose what series they are going to accumulate points in, it still allows Cup drivers to drive in both Nationwide and Cup, and in some cases Trucks.  I personally think that a chase format for the Nationwide series is a good idea, because, most of the time drivers like Justin Allgaier, Reed Sorenson, Jason Leffler, and Brian Scott, get pushed to the back burner, because the Cup drivers like, Kyle Busch (as much as I like him, he’s the Jimmie Johnson of the Nationwide series), Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick, and Carl Edwards are constantly, dominating the field.

I personally think a chase format, would be beneficial to them, that way when they get to the cup series, and make the chase they are used to the pressure being on them, to perform and perform well. . . That’s just my opinion though. What’s yours?
